Authentic French bakery and patisserie right on 5th Avenue. Follow the smell of fresh baguettes and croissants for breakfast, then come back for quiches, croque-monsieurs, salads, sandwiches and pastries. Sidewalk tables make it a perfect people-watching morning stop a few blocks from the condo.
Italian steakhouse
Where Italian cooking meets a proper steakhouse. Hand-cut steaks on the grill, fresh pasta, brick-oven pizza and a serious wine list — consistently voted one of the most romantic restaurants in town. The 5th Avenue location is a lively, candle-lit night out.

Quietly tucked just off 5th Avenue on Calle 26, this is the neighbour Italian spot you keep coming back to. Real Neapolitan pizza from a brick wood-fired oven, fresh seafood pasta and a warm, family-run welcome. Dinner only — about a block from the condo.
Tacos
A MICHELIN Guide-listed taqueria and one of the most beloved in town. Tacos al pastor carved off the trompo, smoky grilled meats, and lines out the door for a reason. Cheap, fast, ridiculously good — the local benchmark for tacos in Playa.
Tacos (Caribbean twist)
A reggae-flavoured taco spot with a different spin — shrimp tacos, grilled octopus, vegan options and a wall of homemade salsas. Laid-back, colourful, and a fun change of pace from the usual taqueria.
Thai · Vietnamese · Indian fusion
Contemporary Asian fusion on 10th Avenue with Thai, Vietnamese and Indian accents. Curries, noodles, dumplings and exotic combinations served in a warm, modern space. A consistent crowd favourite for something a little different.
Quebec pub & sports bar
A slice of Quebec in Playa, run by a Québécois owner. Real poutine, smoked meat, pub grub, every NHL game on the screens and a long list of Canadian and Belgian beers. Easy place to land for hockey night or a casual burger and a pint.

The fancy French sister of Yum Yum — co-owner George has been running it since 2011. Classic French cooking, attentive personalized service and a relaxed dining-room feel that turns regulars into friends. The go-to for a proper special-occasion dinner.
Fine dining in a cave
Dinner inside a 10,000-year-old natural cavern — candle-lit stalactites, underground lounges and a cocktail bar carved into the rock. The contemporary Mexican menu is genuinely good, but the setting is the show. Unforgettable for special occasions; reservations essential.
Mexican breakfast & all-day
A 27-year Playa classic for Mexican breakfast and lunch — chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, seafood spaghetti and artisanal drinks with an international twist. Two locations (5th Avenue and Calle 38), both casual, colourful and consistently great. Go for the chilaquiles.
Mexican breakfast in a jungle setting
A Playa legend tucked into a leafy garden off 38th — stone paths, koi ponds and tropical plants make breakfast feel like you've stepped into the jungle. Traditional Mexican plates done properly: chilaquiles, huevos motuleños, fresh juices and great coffee. Cash preferred.
Jamaican / Caribbean
Authentic Jamaican jerk chicken from a chef who started out grilling on a rustic stall in Grand Turk. Smoky jerk chicken, jerk ribs, rasta pasta and fried chicken — Caribbean fire on a plate. A welcome change from tacos.
Gourmet burgers
The most renowned gourmet burger in Playa, with two locations downtown (Mu 40 and Mu 10). Hand-formed patties, serious buns, loaded fries and craft beer. If you need a great burger fix, this is it. Reservations by phone after 1:30 PM.
Live music & pub food
Playa's go-to spot for live rock and cover bands several nights a week, paired with solid pub food and stiff drinks (the namesake bloody marys are no joke). Loud, friendly, unpretentious — go for the music, stay for the burgers and wings.
